• Location and inclination of the annual rings: 90° — 30° radial split. The deviation of up to 50% of the plates is allowed.
• Thickness of the plate in the thick part: 30 cm: 6 — 10 mm, 40 cm: 7 — 12 mm, 50 cm: 9 — 14 mm, 60 cm: 10 — 15 mm.
• Thickness of the plate in the thin part: 30 cm: 2 — 6 mm, 40 cm: 4 — 8 mm, 50 cm: 6 — 10 mm, 60 cm: 6 — 10 mm.
• Sickness: unacceptable.

What is a chindel

The Schindeln (from holzschindeln — a wooden tile) are plates of certain sizes, processed in a special way. A roof and a facade are made of the shindel. In order to obtain suitable plates, the wood is split or sawn without breaking the wood capillaries.
